"Old Town Hall"
The Old Town Hall is opening as an exhibit
area. The community service of the Scouts from Portsmouth's Troupe 1 allowed
this goal to become a reality. Senator Levesque obtained funds for the
project through the Senatorial Grant from the State of Rhode Island.
The exhibit display includes horse drawn vehicles, farm tools, light poles
from Mount Hope Bridge and gears from the old railroad bridge. Some
farm tools are shown below. Click on the photo to enlarge it.
Mr. Kenneth Ayers from Rhode Island DEM's, Department of Agriculture,
introduced the display with a talk and slides of agriculture past, present
and future.
