Summer Reading

Rock your Reading this Summer!

Libraries Rock!

2018 Summer Reading Program

Sign Up runs from June 13 to July 11.

Stop in to the Children's Room to register your reader or listener.  We have one program for kids entering preschool through grade 2, a separate program for more established readers entering grades 3-5.  It only takes a few minutes and then you'll be on your way to reading and its rewards!

Some activities are drop-in, others require you to register.

Call us at 683-9457 or look at the calendar for more information.

You can turn in your completed reading logs from July 30 to August 11.

There will be special prizes for finishers.  We will choose our raffle prize winners at the end of the summer.  We want everyone to have a chance to win, so we can't draw our winners until after the last day of the program.  We promise to let everyone know when we've drawn the lucky tickets!

Book Club

Join us August 1 at 11 am for our discussion of this year's Kids Reading Across RI selection: The First Rule of Punk.

Twelve-year-old María Luisa O'Neill-Morales (who really prefers to be called Malú) reluctantly moves with her Mexican-American mother to Chicago and starts seventh grade with a bang--violating the dress code with her punk rock aesthetic and spurning the middle school's most popular girl in favor of starting a band with a group of like-minded weirdos.

Read the book at your own pace, then join us for a lively and casual meeting where we talk about what we read.

This book has a suggested reading level of grades 3 through 6.

We have 10 free copies to read and keep; sign up and get yours while they last.
