Third Tuesday Book Club

Join us for a discussion of A Long Way Home : a Memoir  by Saroo Brierly.

This is the incredible true story of Saroo Brierley, a young man who used Google Earth to rediscover his childhood life and home in a journey from India to Australia and back again.

Community Reading of the Declaration of Independence with Anne B. Wagner

People of all ages are invited to participate in the sixth annual reading of the Declaration of Independence on the grounds of Portsmouth Free Public Library. Each person who wishes may read a marked section of our nation’s founding document and we will finish in unison. Families are welcome and children who can read and recite are encouraged to take part. Copies will be available or you may bring your own. In case of rain, we will meet inside the library’s program room.

The Taste of Portsmouth

Join us for our 20th annual Taste of Portsmouth fundraiser! This event is 21+, with local breweries, wineries, and restaurants spread throughout the library for you to try! There will be both a live and silent auction, and all you can eat food and drink! Bring your friends, bring your spouse, bring your neighbors! Help support our amazing library while having a great night out. Tickets are $25, and can be bought at the library starting October 1st. Tickets will also be available at the door.
