Author Visit - Marie Force

We are thrilled to announce Marie Force will be here with us for a discussion and to help celebrate Library Card Sign Up month!

Bestselling author Marie Force, a Portsmouth resident, will speak at the library on September 18 at 6:30 p.m. She will discuss her publishing journey, her writing process and take questions from attendees before signing books that are either brought to the event or purchased there.

Marie, who has been published since 2008, is the author of 110 romance and romantic suspense novels. She’s the author of the Gansett Island Series, set on a fictional version of Block Island, and the Fatal and First Family Series, which follows a strong-willed female homicide detective and her politician husband through a wild few years in Washington, D.C. She’s written multiple other series and single titles and is a 30-time New York Times bestseller, a USA Today bestseller, a two-time No. 1 Wall Street Journal bestseller and a Spiegel bestseller in Germany.

Her new romantic suspense single title, IN THE AIR TONIGHT, is set in fictional versions of Portsmouth, Tiverton and Little Compton, and will be released on September 24. Marie will have copies of IN THE AIR TONIGHT and several of her other books for sale at the event. Marie grew up in Middletown, and after traveling around with her husband, Dan, for ten years while he was in the Navy, returned to live in Portsmouth in 2002. Their children, Emily and Jake, are 2013 and 2017 PHS graduates. Marie is also the dog mom of Louie and Sam Sullivan, and granddog, Tommy. She enjoys spending time on her boat, the Sea Wings, which belonged to her late parents and is now in its 36th year in the family.
