Sandra Cook from the URI Master Gardener program will be here to discuss monarch butterflies. Learn what this endangered species needs to survive and thrive! Registration is required for this event.
Sandra Cook is a URI Master Gardener-class of 2008. This unique butterfly holds this “Monarch Mama’s” attention (some would say obsession) from late June to October as she collects monarch eggs to raise into butterflies. Her garden is certified as a National Wildlife Backyard Habitat, Monarch Waystation and was featured in R.I. Monthly Magazine. She has joined with Homegrown National Park whose goal is to encourage growing native habitats in our own backyards thereby supporting species that include the monarch butterfly.
