Circles and Silence: The Opioid Epidemic

To help support and honor the Portsmouth Prevention Coalition Wellness Week, we ask you to join us in a presentation by David Neil, the Violent Crime Prevention and Community Outreach Coordinator from the United State's Attorney's Office. A short film will be shown called Circles and Silence, an overview of the epidemic will be presented, and multiple speakers will be present to talk about their experiences. A question and answer session will follow.

Outdoor Teen Flying Machines with Mobile Quest - CANCELED!!!

DUE TO PREDICTED WEATHER, THIS EVENT IS CANCELED.

As we take our programming outdoors for teen option #2 this summer, Mobile Quest will be here, featuring a high flying adventure. Participants will complete 2 high-flying activities, including creating a high flying, gas-powered animal! Registration is restricted to 18 participants, and only for those entering grades 6-12. Covid precautions are in place, so teens will be spaced 6 feet apart and required to wear masks at this program. Registration reservations will begin on July 15th.

Teen Outdoor Tie-Dye Event - Weather Permitting

Happy Summer Teens! Join us for the first of our two outdoor events this summer, weather permitting. We will be having a tie-dye extravaganza! Held in the grass on the backside of the side parking lot under the trees, we will be happily sheltered from the sun while we make our creations. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, participants must bring their own items to dye (hoodies, t-shirts, masks, tote bags, whatever you can come up with!). Please limit 3 items per teen. Participants must also wear masks and stay 6 feet apart from each other. Registration is required and limited.

Virtual Visit to the Great Swamp Management Area

Crisp spring mornings teeming with the anticipation of sunrise contain a beautiful surprise to the observant eye. The sky dance of the American woodcock (photo by Gerry Krausse) is one of the earliest and most theatrical signs of spring. Learn all about these strange and amazing birds and the unique young forests they inhabit in Rhode Island with the RIDEM Division of Fish and Wildlife!
